ABOUT CLAIRE WAID

IMG_2411.jpeg

At a young age, I was introduced to the captive nature of theatre. Through my family's involvement in the local community theatre in Alabama, I fell in love with the art and made the choice to pursue it as a career.

While in college, I was drawn to makeup, hair, and costumes, through classes and working on productions. Now I'm paving my way in the realm of professional theatre, looking to design wigs for theatre all over.

In 2018 I graduated Auburn University with a BFA in Costume Design and Technology with a minor in communication. While in college I served as the wardrobe supervisor and wig assistant on number of productions which prepared me for my work in professional theatre. I have worked at Colorado Shakespeare Festival as a Wig and Makeup Intern, Weston Playhouse as the Hair Supervisor, and currently the Walnut Street Theatre as the Wig and Wardrobe Apprentice.

Every theatre I work at I encounter new people, new challenges, and new tricks that help me learn and grow in my craft.

I like to look at every day I am given as a gift to create art with others and grow within this beautiful community we call theatre.
